Fall is arguably the most beautiful season in Ontario; the leaves are changing, the weather is cooling down and there are plenty of activities and events to check out. In today’s blog, we’re highlighting some of the best fall activities in Halton, Erin and Guelph.

Allison’s Farm Market
This market has everything you could possibly need to make a delicious fall feast or to decorate your home for the season. You can pick out seasonal produce such as sweet corn (the best in town!), squash, broccoli and more or you can head to their Pick Your Own Pumpkin patch. The pumpkin patch includes a variety of pumpkins, photo setups for your family portraits, and custom pumpkin decorating and calligraphy.

Andrews Scenic Acres Farm Market & Winery
Andrews is the perfect place for the entire family! Parents can enjoy their seasonal Pumpkin Spice and Apple Crisp Wines in the wine shop, and the whole family can pick their own seasonal produce and flowers, including pumpkins! They also host special events and attractions like their Sunflower Kingdom.

Admission: $15 per person for a day pass, children under 5 are free, seniors $7.50
Hours of Operation: Weekdays 10 AM to 5 PM, Weekends 10 AM to 6 PM
Pumpkins After Dark
Take in this spooktacular walk-through event in Milton! Experience Canada’s award-winning largest outdoor Halloween event! Featuring over 50 sculpture scenes comprised of 10,000+ hand-carved pumpkins, live carving demonstrations with our master pumpkin carvers and social media worthy photo-ops.
With special effects and a musical score, witness the magic of pumpkins coming to life after dark! From classic horror monsters, dragons and mummies, to movie and pop culture characters, there’s something for everyone!

Fallbrook Trail Ranch
Ever wanted to ride a horse through the scenic fall trails of Ontario? Now you can! The Fallbrook Trail Ranch offers trail rides, birthday parties and other celebrations, and have their own on-site restaurant for visitors who want to stay for lunch! Scotsdale Farm
Looking for a picture-perfect place to go for a hike, enjoy nature or get some exercise? This 531-acre heritage site located on the Niagara Escarpment is a designated UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve and is pet-friendly! Rated one of the top 3 hiking trails in Halton Hills it is yours to discover.

Spirit Tree Cidery
Apple picking season is here, and while this is usually reserved as a family activity, Spirit Tree Cidery offers the opportunity to make it fun for adults too! Pick fresh Honey Crips, Macs and Cortlands from their orchards, then enjoy a flight of their hard ciders and a hot wood fired pizza in their stunning restaurant. They also offer guided tours and tastings, a fully stocked farm shop with fresh baked breads and ready made meals, PLUS you can enjoy live music on Friday and Saturday evenings! They also host regular Handmade Artisan Markets, with the next one slated for Saturday, October 21st.

Monster Month Elora
If you’ve never visited the picturesque village of Elora, October is a perfect time to go, and for more than just the fall colours! For nearly two decades, Tim Murton’s Twilight Zoo has been decorating the streets of Elora with a unique collection of lantern sculptures. Wander the village after dark to experience this haunting art installation first hand, and enjoy a full month worth of events including ghost tours, magicians, and the popular Monster March parade!

Strom’s Farm
Strom’s Farm corn mazes are legendary – they have been raising money for local charities since 2002. The corn maze (over 6km of trails) is part of a huge Harvest Fun Area which features a wide variety of activities for all ages – tile, rope and straw mazes, wagon rides, pedal carts, cedar spiral, sand pit, and human foosball. On weekends you can also enjoy pumpkin chuckin’, wagon rides and puppet shows, as well as ‘Eats and Embers’ fire pits and snacks. Any visit to Strom’s farm isn’t complete without picking out your perfect pumpkin from the thousands laid outside their market or browsing their bakery for the perfect fall treats.
